Quick Facts

  • Only the calculators mentioned on this page can be used in the Math Test-Calculator part of the test.
  • It is forbidden to use a calculator when you are working on the Reading, Writing and Language, or Math Test--No Calculator sections. You are required to remove the calculator away during these sections in the tests.
  • You'll be kicked out and your test scores cancelled should you utilize your calculator to give out details during the test or to remove test questions or their answers from the testing room.

Calculator Smarts

  • Bring your own calculator. You cannot share one.
  • Don't bring a brand-new calculator. Bring one you're comfortable with. Prepare for the test with the same calculator you'll use for the day of your test.

Acceptable Calculators

If you own an calculator with characters at least one inch tall, or if your calculator features a display that is raised that might be visible to other test-takers, then you'll be seated according to the preference that of your test instructor.

Only handheld equipment powered by batteries is allowed for testing. There are no power cords allowed.

Calculators allowed during testing include:

Unacceptable Calculators

You are not permitted to utilize any of these items as calculators: calculator:

  • Laptops, computers of other kinds tablets, mobile phones, smartwatches, wearable technology or smartwatches
  • Models with the ability to connect to Internet are equipped with wireless, Bluetooth and cellular connectivity, audio/video recording and playing camera, or any other features of a smartphone.
  • Models that feature a computer-style (QWERTY) keypad pen input or stylus
  • Models that make use of electrical outlets, emit sound or even have a paper tape
  • In addition, the usage of hardware devices such as stylus with an approved calculator is not permitted. Certain models that have touchscreen capabilities are not allowed (e.g., Casio ClassPad).
